This school was founded in 1964 and is part of the Technical College System of Georgia. It is located near Tifton in middle Georgia. Currently, the school offers over 140 diploma and certificate programs. There are also eight Associate of Applied Science degrees. Currently, there are approximately 2,500 students enrolled. This department is focused on training students who are adept at spotting problems and solving them. Students in the department’s programs become skillful in a variety of computer and IT applications. Internet Specialist – Web Site Design Degree

This is an associate of science program with a sequence of courses that will offer the student an understanding of the techniques, principles, and concepts that are required of employees in computer information processing. This program also requires that graduates complete some general education requirements in fine arts, social sciences, natural science and mathematics. Students who complete this program will be qualified to work as Internet Specialists Web Site Designers.

This program is offered at the Tifton and Moultrie Veterans Parkway campuses. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. The program is 67 hours, 15 of those are general core courses and 49 are within the major. It takes approximately five semesters to complete the program when attending as a full-time student.

Internet Specialist—Web Site Design Diploma

This is a diploma program that prepares students to understand the principles and concepts involved in computer information processing. It also requires that students gain an understanding of core classes such as English and mathematics foundations in addition to the occupational core courses of the program.

This program is offered at the Tifton and Moultrie Veterans Parkway campuses and requires 57 hours of classroom time to complete. Applicants must be at least 16 and have a high school diploma or a GED. Eight of the program hours are general education and 46 are occupational core courses. Students who graduate from this program will be qualified to work as Internet Specialists Web Site Designers.

North Georgia Technical College

Department of Computer Information Systems

This school was formally known as the Georgia Ninth District A&M and also as Habersham College. It’s located in Clarksville near the North Georgia Mountains. Students of the Computer Information Systems department learn a variety of skills that prepare them for occupations in the fast-paced world of information technology. These learning programs are hands-on, and they utilize the most up-to-date technology and software.

Programs in this department offer a certificate, diploma, or an associate’s degree in the subject matter. Students will learn skills that prepare them for jobs such as a PC repair technician, website designer, or network administrator. NGTC also has an articulation agreement with other schools in the Georgia University System that will allows students to study for a bachelor’s degree. These programs are offered at the Clarksville and Blairsville campuses. Applicants must be at least 16 and have a GED or high school diploma. Placement testing may be required for some students. NBTC offers accredited web design degree programs in Georgia that prepare students for technical jobs in competitive fields.

Computer Information Certificate

This is a short 10-hour program that can be completed in one term by a full-time student. Required courses include Introduction to Computers and, operating systems and hardware installation.

Computer Information Certificate Diploma

This program is 54 hours long and can be completed in four terms by full-time students. Eight hours are devoted to English, math and professional development, and the remaining hours are devoted to the major.

Computer Information Certificate Associate Degree

The associate’s degree program is 66 hours long and takes five terms to complete as a full-time student. Twenty-one of the required hours are general education requirements in fine arts, composition, math and social studies. The other course pertain to the core courses for the major.

Industrial & Environmental Technologies

This school is located in southeast Georgia near the town of Vidalia and is part of the Technical College System of Georgia. The Art Institute of Atlanta

Department of Design

This is a private school located near downtown Atlanta. It was founded in 1949 and specializes in design, media arts, digital filmmaking, and production, visual effects, fashion and culinary arts. Wiregrass Georgia Technical College

This school is located in Valdosta, which is near the state line with Florida. There are several campuses including locations in Coffee and Cook Counties.
