Creighton University has around 7,700 students enrolled for classes and is part of the network of colleges associated with the Jesuits, a Catholic organization. Communication and Information Systems
A public community college located in Omaha, Metropolitan Community Colleges has multiple campuses built around the city for students to use and also has the largest number of enrolled students of any postsecondary school in the state. There are around 100 career-focused programs at the school in areas like computer and office technologies, business administration, culinary arts, and construction technologies. Students can also take classes with the intent of transferring those credits to a four-year college or university. The school originally opened in 1971 and was the amalgamation of eight different schools. The first official campus had around 1,000 students enrolled for classes.
Associate in Applied Science, Information Technology Web Development (ITWDO)
To complete the Web Development degree at Metropolitan Community College, students must complete at total of 104 credit hours. Out of that requirement, 32 credit hours are taken within the major and 45 credit hours are taken in an area of a student’s personal interest. Department of Art and Art History
Founded in 1908 as Omaha University, this popular Nebraska school grew over the last century to accommodate almost 15,000 enrolled students and has long been a popular option for commuter students in the Omaha area. However, the school recently started offering on-campus accommodations to students. Interestingly, many of the first teachers at the school were from a nearby seminary and the first class only had about 26 students enrolled. According to the Carnegie Classifications of Institutions of Higher Education, the University of Nebraska is classified as a doctoral/research facility. Hixson-Lied College of Fine Arts
Referred to by locals as “UNL” or “NU,” the University of Nebraska’s Lincoln campus is the oldest university in the state, as well as the oldest and the flagship of the state’s university system. The school opened in 1869 as a part of the 1862 Morrill Act.
